It’s been awhile ago, but back in May we took some engagement pictures of Sarah and Barrett. They make a gorgeous pair and we are super excited to photograph their upcoming wedding in a couple months! Anyway, for photography sessions, we usually aim for a time in the evening when the lighting is best. On the flip side, the lighting is just as amazing when the sun is coming up… However, who is really up at that time of day when the sun is rising?!?!! seriously!!! When we were originally trying to find a date and time for Sarah and Barrett’s engagement session, the only weekend they could come, was already booked with evening activities. We were going to have to try and fit something in during the day, when all the sudden Colin had this really weird idea. At the very end of his e-mail to sarah and barrertt, he put a PS note mentioning we could try a sunrise shoot. Now, did we actually think anyone would agree to that…? NO. But, they did! They thought it was a great idea. Then we realized, all our favorite places to shoot worked around the setting of the sun… not the rising. We woke up a couple times the week of the shoot to scope out some new places to emphasize the amazing sun rise light. Lucky for us, we got to see some beautiful sunrises that week… Funny thing is, when the morning of the shoot came, the sun rise wasn’t so good. It was kind of a bummer actually. At least the weather was good and the temperature was great.
One other fantastic thing about this shoot…
We always mention to people we are photographing, think of props you might want bring or have in the pictures. Props are a great way to bring out a little of your personalities in your photos. Sarah and Barrett took us up on this suggestion… and almost forgot about the prop they brought. Thank goodness they didn’t because it was a brilliant idea! They purchased an old antique bike from an antique shop! How amazing! Talk about getting inspired! We had so much fun with them and the bike… and we got some awesome pictures from the shoot!

Here’s the sunrise that we all woke up so early to see… not that great, is it!?!?! But at least we got a cute silhouette out of it.

This picture might seem kinda of odd, if you didn’t quite know the background. Sarah is a big time runner… meaning, she loves to run for fun. During the shoot, she was telling us about it and the races she’s ran in. Ironically, we headed down town and a race had just finished. Since that is such a huge part of her life… we had to find a way to incorporate into the photos. Sarah was totally up for the spur of the moment detour. We had them walk into the middle of the crowd and just start kissing. We may have had a few awkward looks, but it was well worth it! We got this super fun shot that was both meaningful and adorable!

We also wanted to try something new. We passed part of the concho river where there was TONS of ducks and geese… why not have Sarah and Barrett feed them?!?! A loaf of bread later mixed with some crazy hungry birds, and we had some hilarious (and maybe a few frightening) moments captured on camera! Thanks for the great time you two!

Now that the wedding has come and gone, we are able to show the pictures of our super fun bridal shoot with Georgia! One amazing thing about Georgia, is well, besides the fact that she’s simply adorable, she was willing to try some of Colin’s – for a lack of better word - interesting… ideas. Sometimes his ideas work out and sometimes they don’t. But, when you have a willing model, most of the time its a success!
Now to some pictures! These first few were in this crazy fun alley we just stumbled upon during the shoot. The angles of the walls were fabulous and the ruggedness was perfect for some fun contrast. And check out those red TOMS! If you couldn’t tell what a fun and laid back personality Georgia had before now… the shoes should definitely give it away! (Yes, she even wore them at the wedding! LOVE IT!)

Not only is Georgia adorable and cute, but she has a stunning side to her as well. Not too many people can pull off cute and elegant… but this girl can! And kudos on bringing the fun props! She brought a few different items that made the pictures more personal and unique to their family!

I wish we could have had hours more on this shoot but we just ran out of time! The funny part is… it was one of our longest shoots ever! Thanks Georgia for the great time!

{matchless}photography – where, yes, we did say “fun” five times in this blog
We’ve known these two for a little less than a year now. Alex and Daniel met with us late last summer to talk about wedding photography. They have shown us a lot about patience and calmness. Many weddings tend to be a bit stressful to plan, and I know for these two plans have changed multiple times. Through it all they’ve shown such great attitudes! All that really matters to them, is in the end, they’ll be together. It’s actually quite sweet and romantic.
A few weeks ago we took them out for a bit of an engagement shoot. We had a great time and it made us even more excited to be shooting their wedding. They had some fabulous ideas as well as putting up with a ton of our ridiculous ones (and of course a few AWESOME ones too)! Alex and Daniel have great traits to photograph. Alex has captivating eyes and Daniel height allows for some fun shots. We had a very difficult time narrowing down our favorite pictures from this shoot. There are heaps more, but there just isn’t room for them all! Hope you enjoy and you’ll definitely be seeing more of these two down the road!

What to say about Rachel? Well, for starters she’s an absolute BLAST to hang out with. If you don’t know who she is, Rachel is a fellow photographer here in the San Angelo area. Check out her website here at http://www.rachelrussophotography.com.
Anyway, a little known fact: Photographers can’t really take pictures of themselves (Shocking, I know!). So we all trade out with each other and take photos when needed. Not only does Rachel have the most amazing blue eyes, but she also has such fun ideas for photos. I LOVED her idea of bringing a bag of lemons to juggle with. The juggling bit didn’t quite work out… but when in doubt, just throw them up in the air (well, that’s what we did anyway)!
Hope you enjoy the pictures!

A while back Colin’s dad had “Tai Chi in the Park” with his Tai Chi Concho group. It was at Kirby Community park in San Angelo. Colin and his mom both went as spectators and of course Colin had to take some photos. So with out further ado… here are the wonderful Feldhaus parents!
(Colin) I love my dads crazy face in the third picture from the top on the right… it is great.

matchless photography – we are not ninjas like my (Colin’s) dad… but we are cool like ninjas.
Last week we took some engagement photographs of Jessica and Clayton. They have such a cool story… Jessica and Clayton actually grew as acquaintances. They went to the same church, volunteered in the same program, their families knew each other… and oddly enough, they didn’t know each other that well. It’s wasn’t until their senior year of high school that they really got to be friends. Their first date was to the prom… and now, years later, the rest is history! Simply Sweet! I (Andre’a) also made an awesome connection! Jessica was actually friends with my brother Phillip back in high school. I LOVE making connections like that and makes this couple and their wedding extra special to me!
We had a blast taking these photos. I think we had some great new and improved ideas! This first photograph is one of my favorites! It’s so different, but so cool and artsy all at the same time. I also love the emotion that is in some of the latter photos. You can literally FEEL the love they have for each other. Anyway, hope you enjoy them and we’ll have more of this awesome couple as the wedding gets closer!

Matchless Photography where Andre’a likes chai tea but Colin does not.
A couple weeks ago we took photographs of the Rork family. They were in town visiting family around Easter time. The two kiddos were troopers and did such a fantastic job. (And they had fun personalitites to catpure!) Hope you enjoy the photos!

Andre’a and I (Colin) have been pondering how to reward everyone for sending potential clients our way. We are super grateful to be in this business and have had such amazing clients and friends. Really what more could we ask for… and we often forget to ask… Referrals. So we have come up with this super awesome totally kick butt photography referral program that is just for you.
Here is how it works… You hear the words “wedding”, “pictures”, “photography”, or “portrait”. You immediately think of {matchless}photography and tell them about us. They book us and you get the referral reward. Its really that simple.
Here is a flyer we put together… because, what good is a blog post without some sort of picture?
Last week we had the privilege of taking some of Christians senior pictures. (I say “some” because we’ll take more when the cap and gown comes in!) We’ve known Christian for a few years now. He is graduating from Cornerstone Christian School (where my little brother Nick graduated from and where my mother taught for 8 years). So when they asked us to take their pictures… of course we were super excited! Christian is a pretty busy guy between school, basketball, and tennis (and i’m sure other things as well.) He’s off to Baylor in the fall along with a couple of other classmates, so good luck to you all!
now for some pictures…
This photograph ended up being one of Colin’s favorites. He can’t really explain why because “it breaks all the rules.” But I agree, it turned out pretty cool.

We found some amazing light!

Christian was sportin’ some pretty cool shoes…

looking quite dashing, Mr. Christian

Just having a little fun.

For all the mom’s out there… We do take some “normal” pictures as well!

The coolest thing about Christian is that he’s representin’ the TV show “Chuck” (which colin and I both love!) We asked him what character from the show he was most like, and his response was Chuck Bartowski! What more can you say other than AWESOME!

Let me just say, this is another family that i absolutely LOVE! Sometimes it’s hard to explain how great a family truly is… this is one of those families. They are very sincere, self-less, and just have an amazing story. Here’s one small part… A few years ago, they felt God calling them to adopt a child overseas. So they left and spent over a month (I think) in a foreign country… where they didn’t speak English… to get the fourth member of their family. We barely got to meet their daughter Julia before we went on our world travels, and now over 2 years later, she has grown so much. Well I should say both of their children have grown so much!
Here are some of the photographs from our shoot.
The rockstar pose… they pulled it off flawlessly!

Here’s Rob and Dollie… the lighting was just perfect so Colin couldn’t pass up the opportunity! And i have to admit, this is one of my favorite pictures of the evening!

Their two children… Ryan and Julia

Stylin’ with the aviators! Ryan’s a natural.

borrowing big brother’s glasses… and looking oh so cool!
The whole family

One big happy family!
