As I said in the last post, if you do get lucky and happen to visit Glenorchy, then to get out, you must go back through Queenstown. The weather wasn’t great, but we were running out of time. We caught up on some little things we needed to do and most importantly, we made Colin’s reservation for the Nevis Bungy (134m – the tallest bundy in NZ). We had to wait until the next day, but at 9:00am the bus left for a 45min drive to get to the Nevis. Once we were there, I started to get butterflies in my stomach just looking at the height.

It wasn’t long before Colin was suited up and we were headed on the cable car out to the station.
Here’s a couple of photographs of Colin getting his bungy gear on. They had to sit in this dentist-like chair.

Then it was time to jump… over 8 seconds of free falling…

And after the fact… Way to go Colin!!!

We had done everything we wanted so it was time to get going. We headed for Mt Cook – the tallest mountain in New Zealand. On the way out of Queenstown, we had one last look at the Remarkables. They are actually way more stunning when they don’t have clouds on them and you look at them straight on. Unfortunately, this was the best we could do with the weather conditions we had.
