I think this is pretty self explanitory.

I love this picture, it turned out so cool. If you look really hard you can see our friend Laura on the far right hand side of the beach… just to give it some perspective.

This one is of the same beach from the rocks on the right hand side.

Our friend Emma doing fire twirling when the power went out on our side of the island.

Radical bay… We pretty much had it to oursleves

Another on radical bay.

Just me hanging out on the bottom of the pool.

Here are some snorkeling pictures of the fishes.

This ray of light came through some rocks under water… pretty cool.

Just chilling in a chair, in the middle of a river, with a sweet waterfall behind me. no big deal.

f.y.i. all of these pictures were taken with my ‘point and shoot’ olympus sw770. It may not take the best pictures or video, but it is nearly indestructable and waterproof. beat that!!

Before you watch this next video – I need to explain a couple of things.
1.) The lady we work with, Jo, had us over for a barbie awhile ago. We met her husband Chris Franklin who is a well known australian comedian – who apparently wrote a knock-off song called “Bloke” that was a number one hit for a few weeks. He is also the mullet king and proud of it!
2.) If you haven’t noticed, Colin and Jeff aren’t wearing shirts in the pictures and videos. In this video, Chris Franklin explains why this is – at a comedy show! We were all sitting in the front row and between Chris and the other two comedians, the boys got ragged on quite a bit…lets just say the show would have been half as long if we hadn’t showed up!

andre’a, colin, jeff, and the chris franklin.
Tuesday the 26th of feb… aka day 13 of ‘no shirt feb’.

Here on The Magnetic Island we have come across this program at our hostel that we work for 3 hrs and they provide us with free accommodation and dinner. On this day it was raining very, very hard but it was so warm. I think it was like 85 degrees. The past couple of days have been just fantastic outside. Sunny and the water is crystal clear. Here is the vid. Characters are me, andre’a, our friend jeff, and Joe (the paid staff cleaning lady). have fun.
I am still working on answering some of the questions yous have been asking… so just be patient. Also, if you have any questions please ask them in the comments. I will try to get them posted soon.
Peace and Love

We’ll we made it here! It is gorgeous and HUMID!! Crikey! We went on a wildlife tour where we held a koala and other animals as well. We are living in bungalows and I think we’ll be here a couple of weeks. We can stay here for free if we work 3 hours a day! That’s not a bad deal and we get a free dinner! So, off to the amazing island life!
Andre’a really did hold this croc (I also held it)

This bird would eat seeds out of your mouth.

I think he liked my hat…

Awww, look how cute the Koala is. I want one.

Andre’a and Barney.

Colin and Barney.

I also made a new friend. We met some of his brothers later, but that is a different story.

At the end of our little tour, they brought out some soggy bread in a pan and all these birds went crazy. They were everywhere… there must have been hundreds.

Andre’a with a Horse.

Our little bungalow.

I made a vid, but it is not working for me right now… you can give it a go at
I will put it in the blog when I can….
thanks

Our last day to live in downtown Sydney, we decided to do some more sight seeing. It was the first day that had been sunny since we arrived!!! We took some more pictures of the opera house in the light – hoping it looked white instead of yellow, and went to the botanical gardens. Who would have ever thought there was such a peaceful place right in the heart of Sydney. It was beautiful and hope you enjoy the pictures! and the vid at the bottom.
Look at us in front of the Sydney Opera House.

I found this cool mirror thing… I thought it was cool.

The city skyline from the botanical gardens in Sydney.

The botanical gardens in downtown Sydney. It was really cool.

Cool bus going by Andre’a.

Well here is another vid we shot from Sydney.

Well, it looks like we are going to head up north for a couple weeks. We were inspired by this lovely saying we learned last night at Hillsong Church. The title of the message was “have a go, ya’ mug” Apparently it is very well known in the Oz, but to us 3 american, it was like jiberish. Let me translate: this means that even though we don’t have everything figured out just yet, take a shot at it anydangways and give it all ya got. We’ll talk about it more in the next film starring Andre’a and Colin Feldhaus on location at Hillsong Church in Sydney, AU…
Jeff (our good friend from college that told us about this work exchange program, he is the other bloke that is in some of the pics) left early early this morning to catch a flight. We decided to leave a day later. We are taking a flight up to Townsville and then a ferry to Magnetic Island…..sounds…..magnifying?!?!?! Apparently it’s really close to the reef, so we can get some sight seeing out of the way before we start working. We decided since we probably would have a hard time finding a job for 3 weeks or so, we might-as-well get some touristy things done. So off to the beaches and the reef we go! And the place we’re staying has Koala’s that we can hold and take a picture with!! So better keep up with the blog.
Hillsong was incredible!! The worship was fanastic! I can’t wait to go back again in a few weeks! And, we got tickets!!! Hillsong is recording a new live CD March 9th and we’ll be there. So all of you should buy a new Hillsong CD when they come out and listen for the 2 hicks from Texas. I’m sure you’ll be able to hear us!….not……it will be recorded in a arena! And we sung some of the new songs last night! You won’t regret it…they’re great! Anyway, we did get some video’s and pics from Hillsong, we we’ll post them soon and then you’s (australian for y’all) can all be jealous! not really
Note: Subways don’t serve chips with the meals…..just apples or yogurt….weird.
That’s it for now
We’ll be at the beach tomorrow!!! YIPEE we just need to pray that the weather gets nice! It’s supposed to be really rainy…
